Blast Furnace Slag, Electric Arc Furnace Slag

 

 

According to different metallurgical process, the furnace slag is divided into smelting slag and refining slag. Smelting slag is generated by smelting process from the ore as raw material. Refining slag is generated by steelmaking process from the pig iron as raw material. The main composition of furnace slag is CaO, FeO, MgO , MnO, SiO2, P2O5, Fe2O3 and Al2O3. It also places a small amount of metal in furnace slag.
Blast furnace slag belongs to the smelting slag, and converter slag, open-hearth furnace slag and EAF slag belong to refining slag.

In the condition of high temperature, the pellets are reduced and molten, to realize the separation of iron and slag, final product is granular iron. The technology has high degree of automation, the labor strength of workers is low, the working environment is good and the technology is environmentally friendly.

In the process, the coal gas generated as heat source is recycled.
